School Daze

School sometimes likes to control my life. Most of the time I have to let it. So upon waking up to unnecessary fire alarms, and wanting to go back to sleep but class beckoning... I opted for a super comfy, casual vibe.
Then I came home and climbed into my pajamas.

Gotta love college.

What I'm Wearing:
-Earnest Sewn jeans
-Modcloth tank
-Forever 21 Sweater vest
-Gianni Bini flats [everytime I find these in my closet, I wear them multiple times in a row then forget them...]
-Modcloth bag
-Vintage locket

Beautiful days call for beautiful outings.

The weather in Texas just took a major turn for the better. To celebrate that [and the end of my cal3 midterm] me and the boyfriend went to the park! We had intended to go to the zoo, but the park called to us first. So the animals will have to wait.

The swings were way too tempting.

And there were "really big fish" which captivated the boy.

Hope you all had a wonderful Monday, and thank you for the comments. (:

What I'm wearing:
Zara Shorts and Belt
Gianni Bini flats
Thrifted Ralph Lauren button-down shirt
Modcloth bag & sunglasses

Study Break

So it's been an interesting weekend. Not very productive, probably because my genetics test wiped me out. Have a test comin' up Monday and Friday. So, prior to my beginning studying I decided to post some pictures from my weekend.

My mom needs a dress for a wedding, so we hit up the Galleria. She wasn't so lucky, but I was. :)

So that's what I wore for my little Zara shopping spree. Though I did get some make-up from Macy's too. But, that's not very exciting to look at even though I got a free gift... which ended up going mostly to my mother.

And um, you know how I was obsessing over these jackets... Well..
EEEEK. So happy. Thank you Zara.

Wearing:
-Gap Striped Shirt [Mom was like 'oooh a bed shirt?' No, Mom. A regular shirt.]
-Earnest Sewn Skinny Jeans from Rue La La
-Urban Outfitters Sandals
-Modcloth Bag [NEW and i love it!]

Time to get back to studying. Can't wait to wear my new shorts. Really REALLY can't wait to wear my jacket! [it could be months... this is texas.]

Happy Weekend bloggers!

Too early for dressing up?

But, halloween is just around the corner!

Thinking about going with a Queen of Hearts costume.
She was my favorite character in the Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland.
Although, I wouldn't mind having a few of Alice's dresses...

[I might take a go at this one if I can't find a good Queen of Hearts pattern (:]
From Annie Leibovits's Alice in Wonderland Shoot
I love Alice in Wonderland. And i love the fashion inspired from it.

Let me Down Easy

It's Friday night again. I'm doing math homework after a long day of grocery shopping, window shopping, and writing. The next two weeks, I'll be having four exams. SO EXCITED. Or not. Also debating on studying abroad next semester/next year. I went to Europe in the summer of 07' and fell in love:
[These images belong to me. Assisi; some island in Italy.]
So, regardless, I really want to go back.

In other news, I've been looking for a shearling aviator/bomber jacket intensely. So far, I've found a few maybes. My favorites are all really expensive, which means I need a miracle.

I've wanted one of these for a month or so now [preparing for Winter], and then it turns out that they were very popular at NYFW. Love this trend.

My Earnest Sewn jeans from RueLaLa got here a couple days ago, and I love them! They fit perfectly, and are the perfect color. I did a little resale shopping the other day as well, and found a shirt, and a belt. Will post pictures of them later. Happy weekend!

Cause' I'm a Gypsy

I should be studying, but blogging is so much more entertaining. This week feels like it's already over, but there are still two more days of class. Kind of hate that feeling. I really just want to go to my house and pick up my new packages (; Then I want to sleep. And write. And sleep. [okay, I also kind of want to study physics... it's growing on me. NERD.]

What I'm wearing:
-Pink Gap sweater [circa 2008 hah]
-Dress from Method [boutique]
-Walk in the Park Sandals from Modcloth
-Vintage Gold Locket

Yesterday, I was really productive and went to a SEWING class! My first sewing class. It was monumental. Anyhow, I made this:

Incase you can't tell- it's a clutch. With my locket on it. I'm quite proud of it because, well, I haven't sewn anything in my life. So, the fact that I have problems sewing in straight lines doesn't bother me that much. Because I MADE a clutch. Haha, ignore me and my amateur sewing abilities.

After my sewing class, I went to a club meeting. I just joined the club in an effort to become more active at school [I'm an introvert]. Anyhow, they were having elections and I figured 'Hey why not put my name out there, even though no one here knows me!'. So, I nominated myself for Membership Chair.

I got Membership Chair.

Not exactly sure what Membership chair does, but HEY I'm an officer in a club. Oh, productive Tuesdays.

Lusting for Fall

1. Wardrobe Staple Cardigan from Anthropologie
2. Arab Scarf [for girls or guys. (: the boyfriend brought me one from lebanon and it's so comfy]
[image of david beckham via runway2reality.com]
3. Acne-Rita Leather Aviator Jacket There is major lusting here.
4. Small School Bag in Tribe Leather from Roots seen in Letters to Juliet [image via thebudgetbabe.com]
5. Delightfully Warm Tights in plum from Modcloth
6. What a Gal-lop Boot from Modcloth [lovin' modcloth]
7. Academic Path Wedge from Modcloth [WANT]

Of course along with these things, I'd need some dark wash skinny jeans, some skirts, many more tights, and tons of comfy sweaters...

(:

If I was going to New York Fashion Week...

I would wear this:

I would also have to bring my biggest fan, Lizzie, who wanted to be in my photoshoot too.

Anyways, this was a last minute idea before I left my house to come back to school, so it wasn't done with much finesse. There's not really a good place in my house to take pictures of myself, and I couldn't go outside unless I wanted to get leaves blown into my skin [people were working on our yard] slash be really embarrassed.

Anyways, this is a vintage party dress from my mother's closet. Yep, momma's 80s party dress. I. Love. It. I need to get it shortened, I kind of just pinned it up for these pictures, it usually falls a bit above my knees. I think the tag says A.J. Bari, which if I'm not mistaken WAS a line by Kay Unger. So, neat.

If I had been at New York Fashion Week fifty years ago, I would have worn this:

I bought this dress from a thrift store here in town a couple years ago. I had the intention of wearing it as a halloween costume as some girl from the 50s. However, I didn't want to wear it outside due to the kind of material and the pretty sequins. So, I never wore it. But, I love wearing it around my room. The skirt is so fun and flouncy.

In other news, my camera really is a good camera... but, I'm better behind it instead of in front of it. Still working on the settings for self-timer. I really have no patience when I have to do two things [take pictures AND be in them], so I'll have to work on that.

COUGAR FOOTBALL starts in less than three hours and I cannot wait. GO COOGS!

For those of you who don't care about football- HAPPY NEW YORK FASHION WEEK. I hope it lives up to your wildest dreams.

[The shoes worn with both dresses are gray Kenneth Cole pumps with bows on the toes. AKA prom shoes.]

Oh Hey Genetics, I'm in the middle of blogging so....

Wednesdays are my longest day of the week. Starts at 7:18, when my alarm goes off, and will probably end around 1 tomorrow morning. I got myself up despite my inner voice nagging me to go back to sleep [I am very convincing when I'm tired]. I went to physics lab, met up with my boyfriend [who got to go back to sleep after our encounter], went to cal3 lecture, woke up my boyfriend, went to physics lecture. Now, I'm waiting for the aforementioned boyfriend to bring me lunch.

It is SO humid today. Probably due to the flooding yesterday. I love our flood-friendly campus. Rain boots are everywhere because they HAVE to be.

But, I had a feeling it wouldn't rain again today and wore sandals. And I was rewarded with 99% humidity. [But no rain..]

I don't usually wear my hair in a ponytail [especially a couple days in a row], but it was so nasty outside and my hair was slightly damp... I had to get it off my face. Another thing I usually do is tuck this shirt in. It's kind of long on me and my short torso, but today it was hot and gross, so I didn't want it sticking to me. I also couldn't find a belt, so.. HAPPY HUMP DAY.

What I'm wearing:
-White banana republic shirt
-Boyfriend Jean Shorts from Dillards
-Modcloth 'Walk in the Park' Sandals
-Forever21 Brown vest
