Last Stretch

Well, school is nearly over. This is the last week of actual class, and then we have finals. I took a test this morning at 9 am, and did pretty well on it considering I've been studying for four classes at once. Can't wait until friday at 7:00 pm. That's when my last exam ends. Then I can celebrate... because, really, who cares about finals? (Just kidding. I just want to pretend that I don't care so I don't freak out). I woke up at 8:30, threw on clothes that I thought looked cute and ran out the door! Then I looked at myself in the mirror later. I hate when you go to school and then come home, and you're like "....what?". Yep. Daily occurrences. These shorts don't really fit me very well, and I always convince myself they do in the morning. Whoops. My hair also looks good in the morning, then humidity does what it can to ruin my life. OR maybe I'm just really good at convincing myself that I look awesome. Who knows.

See you all this weekend! If I post again, you'll know I'm procrastinating a ton. Which I might do.

Time to give Thanks

I just got home from a couple days at the lake for Thanksgiving.
It was a nice, relaxing, two days. Even though I stayed up both nights till 4am studying. It was worth it, I suppose. We watched movies, ate lots of food, talked, played cranium, read, and enjoyed the water (even though it was way too chilly to get in).

I am so thankful for so many things: this life, my God, my family/friends. I'm so fortunate, and it's super easy to forget. So I'm working on remembering that everyday. The past week has been revolutionary to me, and I'm trying to hold that feeling for as long as I can.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Todays outfit:
This is car-drivin' attire. Sweatshirt, corduroy leggings, comfy socks, boots. Wait..
did I just say corduroy leggings?! Yes.
Comfiest pants in the world.
(and they're not even pants..)

Dare I deem them.. ceggings?!

PS: Some of you were wondering what I'm changing my major to... and at the moment, I'm not positive. But, I'll let you know when I know for sure. :)

Revelations

Do you ever have one of those moments where you suddenly think "What am I doing?"? I do, and I'm not talking about sock revelations. I'm talking about serious, life-changing decisions.
I had one yesterday.
It was very dramatic, and I think my parents thought I was going to fail out of school with how I was acting.
Not really the case. I should probably stop turning on the drama.
But, it was important to me. And  kind-of life changing.
I'm changing my major. Again.
And I can't wait.

We need to stop taking pictures when the sun wants to go down. I look so pale, and twilight-esque.
Thanks for all of your lovely comments. :)
And Lizzie
thanks you all too. She's a corgi/german shepherd mix. Yeah, I know. Weird. But she's the most adorable dog in the world. (We also have a daschund/lab mix. Awkward.)

Happy early Thanksgiving! I have three exams, a final, and a presentation next week so I'll be studying my butt off until then.
Love, love, love.

PS How I Met Your Mother is about to come on! Yesssss, any himym fans in the blogosphere? Cause' that would be Legen... wait for it,.. dary.

Some things I love...

1) I love studying all day and feeling a sense of accomplishment.
2) I love when my boyfriend tells me to watch something (when he doesn't know what's coming next) and then collapses into silent laughter, while I watch him amusedly.
3) I love music. I love music. I love music. I love music. I love writing music, I love singing songs, I love listening to lovely melodies.
4) I love my family. (Did I mention I have a beautiful niece, and today I found out that I get ANOTHER one!!?)
5) I love clothes (who doesn't?) and how they can turn a boring day into a day I'm ready to get out of bed for.
6) I love Vitamin Water (especially dragonfruit).
7) I love baking.
(Speaking of...)
.....yum.
8) I love God.
9) I love the idea that I'm going to graduate next year.
10) I love my friends, who are there for me through thick and thin. I'm talking about some extremely legit girls.

Obviously these aren't all in order, but they're all important to me (okay, vitamin water doesn't quite compare, but throw me a bone, okay?).

These cake bites via Bakerella are so unbelievably tasty. I went a little rogue from the recipe, but they still turned out yummy! And the best part- they are super easy! Except for the chocolate covering part. I'm not a pro at that yet, so they're a little messy. Oh well. Practice makes perfect. If you like baking, with a bit of a mess, these are for you! You definitely will get your hands dirty... unless youre a pro at household tools (which I am obviously not).

Oh! Another thing I love- photoshop! So fun!
Lizzie kept walking into my pictures, making me giggle. She was a bit confused.

In other news, I convinced myself earlier today that it was Thursday. Then I remembered Harry Potter comes out Thursday at midnight, and got even more excited. Yeah, except it's not thursday. It's Wednesday.

With the way you're dressed, you need some nature.

Finally, an outfit post! (With a strong lack of originality when it comes to posing.)

I thought we got some shots from the back, but I guess I deleted those (Oops). I tend to filter photos after boyfriend goes all photographer on me. Though, he was telling me to get some different angles in.. guess I should listen to him. He knows what he's doing?

This little dress is my new favorite thing. It's comfy, WARM, and the perfect length on me. Okay, in the pictures it looks really baggy, but it's actually pretty fitted (except for the shoulders?). Boyfriend told me to get some shots from the side, but I suppose those never made it to the final cut (Again, oops). I got it from Urban Outfitters the other day, and I don't want to take it off. It's so cuddly. I might have to go and get it in the other color. Probably not. But a girl can wish.

It was gloomy and chilly all day, but sometimes I feel like that's my favorite type of weather. As the boyfriend puts it- "crisp". It makes me want to go to the movies, or take a stroll, or do some shopping. Mainly, I suppose, it reminds me of the holidays.
Speaking of, we saw some trees with pretty lights wrapped around them. Thought we would take some pictures there- then the boyfriend says "you should probably wait until it get's closer to the holidays to take pictures like that". He's already a blogger boyfriend! Sweet!

Much love, blogger friends. (:

Oh "My Ankle", socks.

Today, I had an epiphany.

Socks, I have always loved you. My love grew in high school when I realized that all the sock's I'd accumulated (mostly from Mom), were not, in fact, super lame. They were glorious. I wish I had a picture of my sock collection. I have reindeer socks, fuzzy socks, knee high socks, ralph lauren socks, argyle socks, heart socks, polar bear socks (boyfriend's fav), polar socks (supposedly for camping, more like everyday wear for my toesies), and so much more. If you've been to my home, you've probably witnessed me rockin my socks. If you're a friend of mine, then you have probably also rocked my socks. So you can imagine my happiness when I got a package this weekend including lots of candy and SOCKS. Thanks Audrey, you're the bestest.

In other news, I was trying on my new 8$ flats,

and I slipped them on with my aforementioned gifted socks, to admire them some more.
Dear over-the-ankle sock trend with shoes, I've never really appreciated you until right now. I can't believe how cute I think it is! Haha, I can't wait to go buy more cute socks for my winter-wear!

So, the title of my post is an ongoing joke within my circle of friends. When I turned 16, me and some close friends were hanging out at a pool late at night where there was a lifeguard (who we had been giggling about all night). He was cute. We were big dorks. You might be able to see how this would turn out embarrassing for me. We were the last to leave that night, on purpose of course. My loveliest of friends, Audrey, quickly thought of an excuse to stay even later, grabbed my hairband off my wrist, and tossed it over the fence under some chairs by the pool. We ran back to get it, not obvious at all that we were just staying for some more looks at Mr. Lifeguard. Then it got awkward, when they offered to help us look for it, and we had it already. So we left, quietly and giggly. About two steps out of the pool area, I tripped, and twisted my ankle, and screamed.
"MY ANKLE."
It was very high-pitched and squeaky. And I have never lived it down. I'm sure all of the people at pool, including good-looking lifeguard, could see me and definitely hear me.
Mortifying.

Oh, to be 16 and single.

Anywho, I know I said I would post an outfit, but um.. I forgot my camera at home all weekend! But hopefully tomorrow I can coerce my boyfriend into taking my pictures. I have winter clothes just begging to be worn!

Happy Sunday!

Wanderlust

I am a girl plagued by wanderlust. I'm also plagued by no air conditioning (I know it's fall, but this is Texas).
[I don't know if you can tell, but I really like those sparkly dots.]
(My photos from Italy/Monaco. And the last one is in houston traffic.)

I wanted to post an outfit post today, but multiple things got in the way (like the air conditioning being out and I had to change into a t-shirt and shorts within five minutes). So, I figured I'll try and post tomorrow and just post some of my photoshop experiments up. A couple of you commented on my new header, and since I forgot to mention it- my boyfriend did it. He's quite talented and enjoys challenges.

In other news, today I feel kind of like this.

College.

Today I had to sign up for my classes for next semester, and among being annoyed that most of my classes were already more than half full before I could even sign up, I couldn't get into a lab for the SECOND semester in a row. Um, yeah okay, I guess I don't need to do a semester long research project. Who needs to graduate, anyways? Thanks.
I think I have a case of the leftovers. You know, when you have like all your exams in one or two weeks, and then all of a sudden it's over. You're supposed to feel relieved, and relaxed, and all that good stuff. But, instead you still feel stressed. You get the "I need to be studying" feel, and it continues to stress you out. I mean, I do need to study. I'm a bit behind in two of my classes.. nothing worrisome, but it's there. Anyways, I don't know why my body feels like it's going to run a marathon tomorrow, but it does. Maybe it's a mix of the no air-conditioning and the sight of all my notebooks in front of me. Maybe it's because my boyfriend is diving into the books right now because he has a test coming up. Maybe I should just stare at notes and sleep. If I had money, I would totally bake.

Hope you all are having a happier wednesday! Thanks for all the comments, and new followers!

CatDog

Welcome to my childhood backyard. I learned how to swing here. I made water parks here. I played hide and seek here. Then my parents put in a pool (and I swam here).

This is Maggie the Catdog. What's a catdog, you wonder? Well, it's a cat who thinks it's a dog. Maggie is the best catdog in the world. Purrrfect for the people who pretend they are cat people (but secretly wish they had dogs). Just kidding. But, seriously. She's the best catdog in the world. She comes when she's called, cuddles, and sleeps on your toes when they're cold! (But be careful, if you wiggle your toes she may give you a warning nibble!) Maggie doesn't only act like a dog, but she acts like the Queen of dogs. She is alpha to our puppies (and probably to us, but we just ignore that).
I'm glad I got a chance to model these mustard tights because they are no longer wearable. Thanks to these little guys:

Yeah, it was worth it.

Thanks to all my new followers, and all the comments! Eeek! Y'all are the best!

PS. Doesn't Maggie look like toothless from How to train your dragon??? I want to rename her, but apparently "it's too late" for that.
PPS If you haven't seen How to train your dragon.. you're missing out. Best animated movie ever. (Okay, I just really like dragons. Bias.)

Grocery Shopping isn't for the Weak-hearted.

So many decisions to make. Dinner or dessert? Cookie dough or cake mix? Fruits or fruit snacks? Okay, I'm not really that bad of a grocery shopper. I buy lots of fruits, and generally healthy snacks (except for those circus animal cookies.. I die.).

I bought these plum colored tights from Charlotte Russe on Monday, and I'm excited about them. AND I broke out my brown boots from hibernation. It's the first day of "real" cold weather. I think it was 55 degrees and cloudy all day. Thank you, Texas.

This photo says: "Please stop taking my picture, people are staring."
And I think this one says: "I have no leg, but I'm really happy about it."

What's in your grocery basket that you don't want anyone to know about? I have buttered popcorn and... yep, circus animal cookies.
