I'm lazy.

This is Day Two. Day Two of what you might ask? The boyfriend's left me for Europe and the middle east. At this point I am more jealous of him than I am missing him (don't worry it will kick in when I run out of books and tv shows to watch). Christmas was lovely, and way too quick. My dad has all the photos I took on his computer and I am too lazy to get them right now. But, I did wear grown-up clothes today! And last night I got to spend time with one of my close friends from my Europe Trip of 07'! She is so freakin' artistic it kills me. So is her mom. I want to join their family. We made cookies and snowflakes. Wait... What?

Oh. Yes.

Lizzie is so regal. It makes sense since I named her after Queen Elizabeth when I was eight. Tonight I'm making dinner for my family with my bestie, Audrey. Hope it turns out well, I tend to gravitate towards intense recipes. Hope you all are having a good week!

Christmas Through the Ages.

Or the past four years.
These are my best friends. From 2007-2010.
Merry Christmas!

Christmas Recap tomorrow, hopefully. I'm making a video collage which I may or may not post here. :)
Happy Holidays!

Try #2

Another day and still no cold.
I miss you, wind. Please come back so I can wear sweaters without sweating.
Oh well, I'll still wear tights (and a scarf).

I had to give the dress a second chance. And it was, once again, an interesting turn of events. It has this ability to turn into a drop-waisted dress. Imagine that.
Today will be filled with baking, writing a resume, and hopefully seeing the boyfriend.
I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve. I'm not ready. I have so much baking to get done!
Tomorrow, my brother and sisters and brother-in-laws and my niece will all come over to the house and we'll open a few presents, eat, play with Claire (the niece), and do familial things. It's probably my favorite day of the whole year! After they leave we'll go to a church service around 9 and then come back home and sleeeep. Okay, I'll probably read until three in the morning because I have an awful sleep schedule.
Merry Christmas, and happy holidays you guys!

What are you doing for Christmas Eve? Any fun traditions?

Winter Witch.

What is this? A post everyday?
This outfit was interesting. I found this dress, decided to wear it, then realized it was actually hot outside. I realized this halfway through putting clothes on. Hence the scarf and no tights. Oh well, this is what blogging is for. Trying new things. Anywho, I'm probably going to try out this dress again because it's so freakin' comfortable. Next time I wear it I might make it a shorter length with the belt. Lots of prospects...
I'm going to The Nutcracker tomorrow so expect a fancier outfit!
Thanks for all the comments, once again. :)

Four Shopping Days till Christmas.

The past four days that I've been on break have been different. Different good and different bad. Mostly good. Only a tiny bit bad. Not even bad. Just different.
I've seen my friends and re-introduced myself to my old social life.
Different.
I've also taken up reading. Besides a bit of Christmas shopping, all I did today was read. I love reading.
Right now I'm reading The Hunger Games and it's so good! I finished The Red Pyramid in about two days. I read a bit too quickly for my liking, but what can you do?
I'm a shirt stealer. It's my mom's. I raid her closet when mine is boring. AKA dirty. And today, I was hot in this outfit. Texas is being mean. It teased us with cool weather and then took it away! 80 degrees? For Christmas? Not okay.
Other than reading, I haven't done much. The boyfriend and I re-learned how to play Sim City and have been dawdling on that. He's budget oriented and I'm tree oriented. Perfect balance.

What have you all done since break began? Or has yours even started?

PS: Not much to say except that I really just want to keep reading The Hunger Games until I'm finished. It's that good.

WINTER.

It's here, you guys.
I never thought this day would come.
Today was a grand day.
Yesterday I started reading a book. A real book. Not a weird school book that you're forced to read in order to so-called "pass". (The Red Pyramid- I'm a Rick Riordan fan...)
Anyways, this morning I woke up and continued to read. Then my mom and I made a grocery list so we could bake. Wait, is this real life?
We went out and ate lunch with my dad. Then came home and started to make yummy things.
I found a recipe here for Pistachio and Cranberry White Chocolate Bark. My dad loooooves pistachios, so I thought it would be fun to make him some. So, today I did. And guess what. It's delicious!
So this is my cooking outfit. After my last final on Thursday I curled up on my couch and watched the Glee Christmas episode. Then my practically-almost little sister called and said she wanted to watch the Grinch... So I threw on some tights and socks and headed over! Then I went back to my house and needless to say, I've been wearing this dress since Thursday night. It's not healthy. But, I'm lazy and I have no clothes here. Whatevs.
Oh yeah, then my bestest best friend in the world came home last night and I got to see her today! And then my other bestie came over with her brand new dog. I am so jealous and totally and completely in love. (New blog model, anyone?) Anyways, in the midst of the excitement I got new socks. I told you people of my love for socks. They are awesome and warm. And Ralph Lauren. YES.
Man, I love socks.

OH, and:
Happy Birthday, Kerosene Jesus. Wait...
Just kidding. :)

So thankful for all He has given me.

And also, I can't believe I'm nearly at 50 followers. Glad you all enjoy reading my random (for lack of a better word) thoughts and musings. I enjoy reading yours too. :)

Oh Hey, I got dressed today.

In order to go to lunch, I had to put on normal clothes. No more sweatshirts and ceggings for me!

One rule about forever21 clothing: Never let anyone wash it. Not even yourself. It will shrink, and you will feel stupid.
This dress shrank. So I can barely wear it with tights. It doesn't look too short in the front, but oh boy in the back it's a little risque. Hence the sweater.
I think I will be passing it along soon because I hate pulling down clothes constantly. Any takers? Early Christmas present?

Today I went to lunch. Then I came home and studied a bit. In an hour I will be at a dance class. I haven't been to a dance class in probably a year. I can't wait to have my butt kicked. Oh wait, yeah I can.
Alas I have a pushy friend who has no one else to go with and no finals to worry about. "Oh hey, I have a final tomorrow" doesn't really cut it in her book. Maybe because she's a smarty pants.
If I fail my final tomorrow (I won't) she's to blame! Last final tomorrow and it's my easiest. Can't wait to embrace winter break. Literally. Okay. Figuratively.

That time I recycled.

There once was a time,
Near ten years ago (I'm old),
Where a girl and her dad,
had someplace to go.
There was plastic and glass and green galore.
But something went wrong!
She fell on the floor.
It turned out alright,
A doctor was called,
And gave her four stitches
(while she put up a fight).
The end.

I hope you enjoyed that. Long story short: I dropped a glass bottle and then fell on it at the recycling center. A big buff man gave me his shirt (probably unsanitary, but I digress...) and wrapped it around me to stop the bleeding. I was sent to the hospital and sat there for eight hours before I could go home. It was a blast and a half. Okay, it wasn't really. It was boring, and it was painful.

The point of this story is that today I was so excited. I was going to recycle. I've had plastic water bottles filling up my counter forever. I kept saying "I will recycle them, do not throw away!". But I hadn't. Until today. And my boyfriend's staring at me as I'm smiling and happy, putting bottles into bags to take to the recycling center. And then. And then- I picked up a sheet of broken glass that had fallen from my picture frame and started putting it into another bag when the boyfriend tells me to be careful. Yes, okay, it's glass. I'm not tossing it around like a crazy person. I will be careful. So in order to be careful, I turn the glass around so that the jagged end doesn't tear through the bottom of the bag. In the midst.... I cut my hand. So while the boyfriend is yelling at me let it coagulate! Don't freak out! I'm freaking out, and running to the sink to stop blood from going everywhere. And after all of that, I go to the recycling center and it's closed. And it's all my boyfriend's fault.
(Just kidding. Maybe.)

In other news: Maggie (my cat) is a Grinch. She won't let you wrap any Christmas presents! She will fight you for it!
Okay Maggie, I get it. No more robotic mice that chase you around the house. Promise.
This is my 'I had a final this morning and only got four hours of sleep so I don't care about anything' look.
Hopefully I will actually get dressed tomorrow.

Weekend Roundup

I had a lovely weekend at the lake free of class, free of homework, and free of studying. Now I'm back at my apartment and I need to study. But, instead I'm pretending to be productive by doing old math quizzes I never got around to. Only two finals to go.
And a brief picture of my stint with a scarf. I may try it again in some actual outfit pictures (as opposed to myspace/bathroom pics). It was quite comfy.
How was your weekend?

Auto Correct

Do you have a phone that likes to tell you what to say to your friends and/or boyfriend? I do. It likes to tell people weird things and call people by different names. And it's never my fault. It does it on it's own, I tell you.

My boyfriend and I have such a strong relationship.
And when I asked him the next morning why his first thought was to break up with me, his response was
"Abbey, you were a zombie."
I wasn't aware zombies were civilized enough to text now.

My favorite part of this was that his firsts response wasn't like what the heck- but he had to tell me that there are "unacceptable" diseases in maggots. Yeah, okay, like I didn't know maggots were gross.
I've used the word maggot way too much in this post.

And I was going to put pictures up of my lovely outfit today. I wore a scarf in a way that I don't usually wear a scarf- it was innovative. Except that I had a little mini-meltdown. You know what I'm talking about. ("I hate all my clothes/I'm tired/I don't want to take two finals tomorrow")
I don't really hate all my clothes. I'm very grateful for them. (John made sure to inform me that many people in the world would be thrilled to have any piece of my clothing. Operation guilt trip successful).

I love my boyfriend. He's completely hilarious, even when he knocks a full glass of tea onto my leather purse.
Okay, I didn't love him so much quite at that moment. But he made up for it with a Harry Potter joke right after.
Okay enough rambling.
Goodnight Thursday!

Christmas Wish List

1. Holgawood Camera via Urban Outfitters.
2. Alpine Skiing Sweater via Modcloth

3. Bookish Laptop Bag via Spotted Moth
4. Gentle Nudge Socks via Modcloth
5. Glee Karaoke Revolution for Wii.
6. I <3 Macarons Cookbook
7. Diversey Single Paisley Bracelet via Jess LC

8. Suedette Heel Oxfords via Forever21.

9. Stella Watch via Fossil.
10. OPI Glitter Nail Polish.

And that concludes my Christmas List for 2010. Well, pretty much. My mom likes to have a list from me, and then buy me stuff opposite of it. Like I ask for shoes, and I get a water bottle.
(It's funny because at the time I'm like oh thanks... a water bottle. And then two months later I'm like check out my awesome water bottle, guys! Mother always knows best.)
So top of my list is Glee Karaoke. I love Glee and I love singing. When I told my boyfriend this was going on the list, I think I scared him. He's not really a fan of either (I know, he's crazy). Then of course there's my huge Modcloth wishlist- so big I couldn't even share a portion of the things on there. So many cute things.

What's on your Christmas list? Or even better... what are you giving?
I would talk about what I'm giving, except that some people who I already have gifts for read this. So, that would spoil it. After Christmas, I'll dish. ;)

And, by the way, I won the giveaway from Despising Life is So Passe! Thanks Theresa!
