Ren Fest.

This weekend was full of baby showers and the Renaissance Festival.
So fun.
It was pirate weekend, and the boyfriend and his friend dressed up and bought foam swords...
They are so grown up it's crazy.
We meandered, tasted mead, watched shows, and ate, and ate, and ate....
I managed to bring home some kettle corn that I'm snacking on now. Delicious.
Before we left, the boyfriend and his friend dueled it out. There were about ten little boys sitting around them in awe.
Don't ask me why.
But, it was cute.

Of course I was the designated picture taker, so there are no pictures of my outfit.
AKA black skinny jeans, black boots, and a striped shirt. That's as pirate as I get, my friends.
PS you have to love the boyfriend's pirate beard. He's so proud.

Books Books Books.

Incase any of you were wondering, tuesday was good to me.
Although I wish I was in bed, I just have a little more work ahead.
I just finished a book (or two... ok three) and I loved it!
Yay books!
After reading The Hunger Games nothing has left me as satisfied. Besides Harry Potter, nothing probably will.
However Divergent by Veronica Roth did a very good job of distracting me.
If you liked the hunger games... this won't be as good. But it will be a good read.
It's kind of dark, and the heroine was better than most (I'm looking at you, Bella Swan). Not really post-apocalyptic, but definitely a different reality. Very gripping read.
I also read a book called Enclave by Ann Aguirre. It was interesting, and a can't-put-down-read. But, I liked Divergent better. It's a post-apocalyptic tale that has some kinda zombie things hangin out in it. I'm not really a fan of zombies. Or apocalypses.
Then there's the Son of Neptune. Heard of Percy Jackson? No? Go read. Best series ever (after HP and HG). The Son of Neptune is the sequel to the Lost Hero and the second series of the olympians by Rick Riordan. Love it.
My sister is a 7th grade english teacher, and she gives me these young adult books that I can't seem to stop reading.
To be clear: I blame her.

K. Back to work. (:

Wasting time.

I have to write a newscast and continue to study for a midterm (tomorrow! eek!), and I'm giving myself until midnight.
Then I will force myself to bed.
I hope tomorrow goes quickly!
Please, tuesday Gods, have mercy upon me and go quick.
(In other news I just read Son of Neptune and loooved it. Rick Riordan all the way!)
Tomorrow I have to turn in some assignments for photojournalism... a self-portrait, and the skyline!

I love taking photos. Wish I took my camera everywhere.
Next stop: new camera bag.
But now... to my school-work....
Wish me luck! Have a great Tuesday!

POPphone

Oh hey, long time no see.
Hopefully I will start blogging like a real blogger again soon.
Until then.... I will pretend like I'm a real blogger.
I made a somewhat silly purchase a couple weeks ago, but am quite pleased with it!
Surprisingly my boyfriend and my mom both want one too!
Ha!
What is it?
It plugs in to your cell phone and laptop (and really makes talking way more fun). Fo realz.

It also makes taking pictures way more fun! And it's a cute color. Wins all around.
The boyfriend wants one in black.
Soooooooooo fun.
I usually don't spend on random purchases I don't technically need, but... it does eliminate 99% of absorbed radiation from cell phones, so.... why not?
I love it.
The end.

Weekend Vacation.

It's Sunday night and I'm watching episodes of Modern Family (which I just started and love already).
My only class is cancelled tomorrow, and I don't work either.
A whole day.
During the week.
What to do, what to do.
I'll probably end up studying for my test tuesday, and working on a project. But it's a whole day to myself and I can't wait.
What do your Mondays look like?

When we got back in town today, I bought some quick items that I'm pretty excited about...
a new camelback waterbottle! My new cycling companion. (:

And also, I got Just Dance 3 which I'm super obsessed over already. I bought Just Dance 2 over the summer, and played it constantly. Thank goodness for new songs to dance to!
Have a great Monday!

Dramatic Portraits.

For my photojournalism class we were working with Dramatic and Environmental portraits this week.
I, of course, waited until the last minute to take some photos. The sun was going down, and I had to turn them in the next morning, soooo we got creative in my room, and on our balcony.

And as for the environmental portrait.. we got really creative.

Eh, she wants to be a chef, so it kinda works out. ;)

A group of us went and saw 50/50 last night, and it was really good. It's a sad, and true, story, but it was hilarious surprisingly. Really good actors. I would def recommend it. Now, I'm laying in bed and enjoying the beginning of my weekend! Might even take a nap..

These Days.

These days, I'm in a different reality than I'm used to.
I'm happier than I have been in a long time.
School is easier than it has been in a long time.
There are more plans to be made, and things to see.
And I got a 97 on my project last week! (:
The boyfriend at a little italian place on our Saturday date.
The roommate jumped on the bandwagon and we made some more art for our apartment. (Guess those countries?)
Some new converse from the outlet mall! In love.
Maggie interrupting my sewing. She's the coolest.

Hopefully will get back into the swing of blogging soon! My life is so busy these days.
