Always Moving.

Some snippets from late january/early february. Time is moving too quick! I can't believe Spring Break (for those in college- that is) is in two weeks! I'll be trying to escape for a long weekend with some friends- hopefully thats possible. :)

(me taking my outfit of the day photo, grapes as a snack, the boyfriend drinking leprechaun beer, ronald stole the boyfriend's protractor, and me & the boy's hilllaaarious jokes)

The week is flying by and I have some projects in the works! I wish I wasn't so lazy after working all day, but thats my life! No complaining. :)

Hows everyone else's week going?

iRead Again.

Well, I can't seem to stop myself from ordering books online.

So.

I read Jane Eyre finally, for the first time ever. I am not very surprised (although I am kind of surprised) how quickly I went through it. Mr. Rochester... i love. Such a strange character, but him and Jane are so charmingly weird! I want to re-read it and memorize all the fantastic quotes it contains because they are so perfect. so perfect. As you know since I quoted one of them here. ANYWAY, if you're into the Bronte genre then you should GO FOR IT. although you probably have already. I am behind the rest of the world.

Also since I have last blogged my reading- I read Paper Towns by John Green. I'd been meaning to read it, and for some reason I read all his other books first (Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, & of course TFIOS). This one was pretty entertaining. TFIOS takes top place for me, with An Abundance of Katherines taking second place. Paper Towns did make me laugh out loud in the last third part of the book. But I didn't loooove the ending, and the middle lagged a bit for me. Oh well.

Maybe I didn't like Paper Towns so much because I had read Thirteen Reasons Why prior to it, and it put a bit of a damper on it. hah. Thirteen Reasons Why was a good read, but so very sobering and sad. Hannah Baker narrates the story of why she decided to commit suicide on seven cassette tapes, and then has them delivered to thirteen people who played important parts in her story, so that they would know why she did it. Clay is the ninth person to receive them, and is obviously horrified to hear what he does, but also embarks on the Hannah-designated adventure to understand her decision. So, obviously, it is a hard read. I felt like I was sitting in a bubble while I read this book. After it was done I realized I'd turned all my music off (which I neverrrrr do), and was sitting on the couch in silence. Lots of feels. The whole time I was wondering how it could end without it being so sad, and the author did a good job of pulling it all together.

Any good book recommendations? I read almost any genre so no holds barred!

Also, do you any of you listen to City and Colour? I just discovered them and am obsessssssed. Listen to them here!

Happy Monday!

I dragged my roommate out to the street this past week so I could take photos. It was just the right amount of drizzle and gloom! Then it started pouring so we had to run back inside. Got some gems before we left, though. (:

Adjusting my sleep schedule has been an adventure, and I still don't like getting up early in the morning (granted I don't think I will ever unless it involves beignets or being on vacation), but working all day isn't all bad. The job I got so graciously is pretty simple and the time passes by quick enough.

I am soooo looking forward to this weekend though!!

Happy Friday!

The hour is late.

Life is steadily moving forward. I got a temp job to make some more income for a bit while I work on my portfolio and do some weekend shoots. Very happy to fill up my days.

I am kind of in disbelief at how much I have been able to read lately. I CAN'T STOP. No complaints here, but seriously. Its glorious. I'm glad I did because now I'll be working full days and not have as much time to dedicate towards it.

We saw Beautiful Creatures Saturday night and I have to say that I liked it. The music score was undeniably cheesy, and I had no idea what the movie was about when I went into it BUT I enjoyed it. Despite the horrible southern accents. I'm not holding this against the movie, but when it started I thought it was a joke. Sorry, Ethan. I'm curious to what other people thought??? I haven't read the book so I don't have any comparisons!

(me & the boyfriend drinking frozen mimosas yumm, ronald in a box, weekend adventures to nice restaurants, reading every day by david levithan, my sailor outfit, going out to celebrate friends' accomplishments, and of course, ronald sleeping)

Hope everyone had a nice President's day yesterday! Happy Tuesday!

I seem to be like a week behind on posting photos, but that's better than having nothing at all I suppose. This week I am working on building my portfolio, which I feel is the only thing really lacking in my job-hunt. Not enough consistency, people! So. I have also read/finished Jane Eyre and I watched the movie last night... so.much.sexual.tension. that I did NOT pick up in the book! Well, I kind of did, but not to the extent of the movie! (like...really.) I have a new book love.

So, welcome to my nanny-wear. Jeans are my go-to, despite my want of other pants. My 9$ jeans from h&m are kind of irresistible. Literally 9 bucks and I wear them every day. Unbelievable. :)

My hair is at this great awkward length where I need to get it cut, but I'm waiting for my bangs to grow out a bit longer. So... this is my life right now.

Anything interesting going on in the internet world?

Happy Friday!

Happy Heart Day.

...to each and every one of you.

But especially...

What can I say... I just read Jane Eyre & loved it. So now I get to quote it in valentines day cards. ;)

Happy Valentines Day!

Utilizing Time

Time is flying these days. Ever since I started college I felt like time started to speed up. Now its just never-slowing! The boyfriend is still in school, and starting to get really busy. While I appreciate his studies, it means less time to hang out. I am one of those annoying people who constantly feels the need to do things. I want to get out of the apartment and see a movie, or eat somewhere cool, or go to an exhibit. I hate the feeling of doing nothing. I really feel like we need to utilize our time spent together. But when the boyfriend comes over, we find ourselves curled up on the couch watching TV shows. But then afterwards I'm like noooo this is not what I wanted!

WHY. A ball of frustration.

Anyway. Any advice on how to not get sucked into the couch? Sometimes I don't let him come inside, so that we are literally forced to stay out of the apartment.

(galveston day, dressing up for galveston day, little dinos I got with my order from photojojo, ronald  & my camera's love affair, ronald in the window, and lovely little henry).

Merry Tuesday!

Just Another Day.

When there is nothing else to do, play with your camera. That is my motto.

Henry.

That little boy in the top photo is my parent's new puppy- Henry. He is seriously cute with a little bit of a nibbling problem. They said he was a jack russell terrier mix, but obviously he is a mini rottweiler (at least its obvious to us). Bayley, my parent's other dog, is not super happy about this new addition. As you can imagine. Anyhow, I've spending parts of my days over there playing with him while my parents are at work. He's such a puppy and it's fun keeping up with him!

More details.

This February thing is freaking me out. I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to have a big girl job, or at least another part-time job by now! Someone please respond to my resume! All things considered, I'm not really complaining. While I would obviously like to be making a bit more money, my nanny job pays well enough and is tiding me over. Plus the family is great, and I will be sad when I have to leave them. Whether it be for a new job or for grad school.

Grad school? Yes. AH!

These photos are from nannying, and the pup is my parent's new family member! They got him two weekends ago, and he is so cute! More pictures of him to come, I'm sure.

Happy Wednesday, all!

Galveston Finale.

The last tidbit of mementos from Galveston. I cannot stress enough how beautiful of a day it was. The sun was perfect and the weather was in the 60s! Perfect texas day if I ever saw one.

Happy Tuesday!

Little Details.

The weekend is over and it is FEBRUARY. HOW?! There are no words. In other news, I had a nice weekend. The boyfriend and I made a projector (inspired by this) and projected home movies onto our living room wall. While it was not perfectly projected (a wee bit dark), it was seriously magical. Then we had a birthday thing for one of the boyfriend's friends and yesterday I read a whole book!

These photos are a bit of a mix. The first and last are from the day we went to galveston, and the middle ones are little snippets of nannying last week. I have a constant urge to document their house because I love it. But thats kind of weird. Documenting someone's home without them knowing. So I will not. BUT, words are ok... right? They have a simplistic home in the best sense of the word. Everything is decorated without clutter or junk. Giant windows give me a great view of the street, and let in beautiful natural light. This is especially good because there isn't an overhead light where I usually sit and read. I pretty much die over dark stained wood floors, and the first time I walked into their house I was like ...yes, yes I will nanny for you. ;)

It is a good thing I like their house so much since I'm there every day!

Happy Monday everyone.
Anyone got any good songs for the week? I'm collecting!
