Camping.

Happy late Memorial Day, y'all!

I hope you spent it well, and gave thanks to those who have served, or are currently serving us!

I went camping with my family, and some close family friends to a small state park a couple of hours away.

It was a beautiful, hot, windy, weekend.

We took a long, long, long hike the first day with just my dad, me, and Bayley (the dog). 

Bayley gave up on us a couple hours in, and my dad had to carry her a bit before we found a spring to cool her off in. 

The next few days were full of laying around, swimming, and reading. And some ghost stories.
The ghost stories ended up just being plotlines from scary movies.
None of us are too good at storytelling.

The end of the weekend was the best part.

We waited until sundown, then walked to the road, which borders part of a big stream. We all laid down, and watched fireflies, and looked at the stars.

Despite scaring a couple innocent people walking by in the dark, and nearly getting hit by cars, it was a lovely evening. ;)

Dogs are weird.

This is Bayley.

Bayley is my dad's dog.

She loves him, and tolerates the rest of us.

She does this weird thing when my parents go out of town, and drags her bed into the middle of the room when I'm not there. Then she acts like nothing's different and lets me take pictures of her.

Those pictures are all on different occasions.

And yes, that is a bunny on her head.

A couple days ago I came home from my pilates class, and found a very ashamed dog hiding behind one of the chairs.

Looking back on it, I kind of wish I didn't narrate. Oh well.

Pink Velvet.

I've been dying to try out this recipe by Sprinkle Bakes. Hers looks so much better than mine, but granted I've never rolled a cake before. I think mine was a little too thin. 

Then again, the boyfriend said he was going to eat it until he was totally full (pre-dinner). So I think he gave it a thumbs up.

It was surprisingly really easy to make!

Also, I've been looking for a job and exercising like a crazy person.
And been listening to Lissie's album Catching a Tiger. It's extremely chill, and pretty. And I'm obsessed with her version of Kid Cudi's Pursuit of Happiness.
But, this one below is a fav too.

Momma's Day!

Happy Momma's Day to all of you who have mommys or are mommys!

This morning I woke up, scrambled around to clean the house, ran to the grocery store, crafted quickly, and started to bake before my parents got to the house. It was a hectic morning, and now five hours later I can finally sit. But it was worth it, so that the woman of the day can take a nap.

I made her these Lavender filled, Citrus Cream Cheese frosted Cupcakes. They are pretty spectacular.

Self-Portrait Mode.

So in about two days time it will be officially finals mode. I'm going to start studying tomorrow to get ahead, but I'm scared of the rest of the week! (studying scares me.) I'll be at the local starbucks with my roommate and the boyfriend. We may get a good 30 minutes of studying in between the three of us.... just kidding (hopefully). 

These photos came out really fun. I was bored earlier, and found this awesome blanket that I think my mom's trying to get rid of.. well, not anymore! So I took it out in the daylight and got some of the setting sun.

Summer Lovin

Today is my first day of almost summer. What is almost summer? Almost summer is when you're done with classes but you're stuck in the inbetween of finals.

Almost summer almost kind of sucks.

But, it's almost the end my friends.

The boy and I went to the park yesterday to take some pictures for my last photography class.

It was a beautiful and hot day. 

Funnily enough, today it's in the 60s and so beautiful.

We're one day late, as always.

On the plus side, I won a bet and the boy has to plan a mystery date for me sometime in the next 2 weeks.

Marching for Babies

So, what did y'all get up to this weekend?

I took a test Saturday morning bright and early. 

Then this morning I woke up even earlier for a special cause.

March of Dimes is a really great organization. You can donate money to help premature babies start healthy lives.

This is the second time I've walked (about 6 miles) for this cause. I saw a lot of great t-shirts (ours was pumpkin orange.. not so great), and I wish I photographed more of them.
