Week of Outfits [2]

If you read my blog regularly, you will know that I have started tracking what I wear every day in a social media experiment. I am enjoying it. Anyway, here is week two! If you want to see what I'm wearing, follow me on instagram here.

A week of outfits.

Now that I have a new JOB, I get to dress up a little more than I do at home. Our office is laid back enough where I can get away with jeans, but since it's still work I do have to look appropriate... I am having fun with this.

Of course the two photos taken outside are from the weekend...

If you are curious about where any of my clothes are from, follow me on instagram- hipster.abbey. This is a new insta that I made to track what I wear every day. Call it a social media experiment.

BECAUSE NOW I WORK IN SOCIAL MEDIA.

Pass me the mom jeans, please.

Now that I'm back in the midst of fall again, I have found my new wardrobe staple. High-waisted jeans. These are not new by any means, but the high waist and above the ankle style is something I didn't think I would ever be able to pull off. I have a short torso and not too long of legs, but I am still obsessed with these jeans. They make my legs look longer and slimmer and I will not complain. A couple of years ago I bought a mustard colored sweater. My friends (and mom, included) made faces. Then I put it on and got so many compliments. I love mustard. That's right. I do. My mom is still not a fan, but I have converted some of my friends. It's staying in my closet, guys.

Everyday in Auckland

This is my staple wardrobe here in Auckland, where the wind will blow through any kind of fleece or sweater I try and put on. This jacket from Joules, however, defeats the breeze (if you will). I am warm & toasty, even though my cheeks turn pink from the cold. Also, can we appreciate the beautiful floral interior? I kind of want to wear it inside out. That wouldn't be thaaaat weird, would it? Anyway, despite the cold, I still wear leggings every day because I am all about cute & comfortable. Thank you, Zara. You can't have a comfy outfit without warm & cozy socks. I stocked up on these ones from J Crew and I am so glad. I pretty much wear them all the time. And there is no shame.

This weekend is up in the air but there are whispers of birthday & islands & wine, so I am sure it will lead to something interesting! Have a great weekend!

Style Video

Remember way back here and here and here? Yea. Me too. ;)

Well, I finally came to a standstill on some of my current projects and I found this little lost unfinished project in my final cut pro folder. SO I decided to finish it & throw it online. So here is our little behind the scenes video of that lovely morning on the ranch.

I'm excited to do more of these on a bit grander of a scale. We shall see. The future holds exciting possibilities! Happy hump daaaaaay!

Last Ranch Look.

By the time we got around to taking this last set of photos, I was hot. Like, sweaty, nasty hot. But, we were having fun and trying to embrace the slight breeze we got every now and then. I like this look a lot, and will hopefully replicate it when the weather doesn't want my clothes to stick to my body so uncomfortably. I got to re-wear my hat! Check that out!

Anyway. It is Monday. So that means we're all back to some form of work. If you're unhappy, maybe you should listen to this song about not wanting to go to work... because it is my JAM lately.

Happy Monday! xoxo

Dying for this weather.

This is the second installation of photos from the ranch two weeks ago. I bought this sweater from GAP during a sale a couple of weeks ago. 50% off sweaters! I got two for around 20$ each. I will take. Yes, please. I will probably not pair it with my leggings again, because oh hello there hips. I did not mean to let you out. By the time we got around to taking these photos, the sun was not playing any games. We thought it would be cloudy enough, but then it turned all sunny and hot, hot, hot.

No time to worry about it, I suppose. Life is moving too quick! I say that every time I post something, but seriously- slow down! I need a couple of days to catch up!

What are you looking forward to wearing this autumn? Anything I need? Probably.

Happy Monday!

Time for AUTUMNAL things!

Oh hello there, didn't see you. I was too busy putting my hands in my hair.

Ever since using Big Shampoo from Lush, I cannot control myself the day after I wash my hair. Its so big and bouncy and wavy. Gosh. Okay, I won't rant about Lush. I promise. Last Friday, I coerced my roommate into driving an hour to our other friend's ranch to take some photos. I love it there. I wanted to stay and frolic in the grass all day. We even saw an alligator! I'm hoping to go back soon, but incase we couldn't, we took a bunch of photos... which you will be seeing over the next couple of weeks. :)

This weekend was too quick! I can't believe that its monday once again. So many things I need to get done! I almost bought a 75$ planner out of stress, but I refrained at the last minute! (thank goodness, who needs a 75$ planner???) I started reading Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs and am loving it. I also got to babysit my brother's puppy. Eeeep. That was amazing in itself. Hoping next weekend is as fun, but less busy!

How was your weekend???

:)

Transition.

Can we ignore all the imperfections in these photos, and just focus on the fact that I did an outfit post... again? This must be some record. Yes, I know that my belt is one hole too loose, and I know that my manicure is chipped (and frankly just a mess), and I know that my legs are freakin' pale... but hey, who is perfect? Not I.

I bought this sweater at H&M last week and it is just perfectly oversized. I have cuddled up in it multiple times despite the fact that it is still in the 80s most days here. My room gets cold, k? I ALSO picked up this lovely plum colored nail polish from target (I can never not buy anything in target. its a disease.). Anyhow, I love it. It is going to be my staple color for fall. As you can see I am still wearing shorts because it is still freakin warm here. I know you can't tell because I am a winter shade of pale.

These days are really going by too fast. Decisions need to be made, and I need to step UP. But I am tired and just want to read. Am I the only one plagued by this? There is literally not enough time in the day. By the time I'm in bed it's at least midnight and I have to wage war on debating whether or not to read a bit before I pass out. One day there will be time for rest and relaxation, right? One day...

Until then I'll be keeping busy.

xoxo
