Christmas time...

Well Thanksgiving is over, so that means its officially Christmas time!!! Don’t act surprised, its all over everyone and their mom’s blog posts. I will not lie, and tell you that I may have squeezed in a viewing of The Grinch after watching Bridesmaids the other night… because holy crap, it’s the real holiday season! Every year I want to do all the Christmas-y things like ice skating, baking, decorating, throwing parties, etc. Every year I always fail. I accomplish maybe one or two things on that list. This year I’m going to do all I can! Because it’s the time to savor and enjoy what we have.

It's never too early to start a Christmas list. Which is what I started doing on Pinterest a week or two ago.... hey, people have got to know. I decided this year to look on etsy for gifts for friends because 1) its usually cheaper and 2) its a lot more personal. At least in my opinion. Above are some of my etsy wants. Everything on this list I'd be glad to have in my posession... and to be honest, i don't know where i'd put a pink rhinoceros... but i just know that i want it. heh. Is there anything cool on etsy that I should know about? I'm kind of on an etsy spree... so any suggestions would be gladly noted. (: xoxo

t-giving break.

After a weekend of laughter, poker learning, shooting arrows, and sitting in front of a campfire... I bring you this:

Our weekend at the lake. I miss it already.

Webseries Addictions.

socksWelp, it's Monday again. One more class and then its on to a week of no school! With the GRE officially over (yay!), I will now be officially officially looking for a job instead of just meandering around the internets seeing what's up. eep. I'm not too worried, despite the numerous articles about why graduates won't find jobs.
night-3-2 Whateva whateva I do what I want. ;) I've been watching the freaking lizzie bennet diaries all evening, and now that I'm at the end I guess I'm going to actually watch Pride and Prejudice because I now feel empty inside. In other recent news, I used a backdrop today and took black and white photos. I'm thinking about doing one of those 365 day photography projects... except maybe not as serious.. We shall see.

night-2-2 Any other good webseries, or TV series that I need to fall in love with ASAP? Hook a sista up.

Ranch Part 2

Currently
I'm listening to Lana Del Rey's album Paradise. I love her. I can't decide between listening to Ellie Goulding's Halycon album or Lana's... tough decisions. Always. I'm on anti-inflammatory meds for my back (yay I finally got to a doctor!). I'm reviewing for the GRE this weekend. Praying I can get through 4 and a half hours with my back this way. Hopefully meds will work! :) I am feeling grateful for my family and the boyfriend, who always support me. I love those people.
And here is part two to the ranch pictures. With, still, many more parts to come.. oops.
ranchblogpostfinal2The sunspots are ridiculous in these photos. Love it. ♥
What are you people feeling thankful for this November? I can't forget to mention that our texas heat has finally come down to the cool 60s! Thanks, Houston!

Ranch Trip Part 1

I really need to finish editing all these photos because it looks like we're planning another ranch trip after thanksgiving... which means more pictures will be taken, and more will need to be edited. I love the kind of rough grain these pictures have. Also, my friends are quite pretty. I have a part two coming probably tomorrow night with the rest of these. ranchblogpostfinal1

Does anyone else hate blogger sometimes? Seriously it should not be difficult to move pictures around. Maybe it's just me. Anyways, happy tuesday! Three of my four projects are turned in, and I'm taking the GRE on Saturday... good times are a comin.

Ain't that the way.

Well, we're back with more iPhone pictures. Which just goes to show how much I need a smaller, lighter dslr camera bag. Because, simply, I am lazy. It's a lot of work to carry that thing around in my giant purse with billions of other things bouncing around. I need to streamline my life. Also, I am going to post more ranch pictures sooooooon. May I reiterate... I am so lazy. BUT, not really! I've got a project due for each class next week, so in actuality I've been quite busy! Two out of the four are done, and I'm hopefully going to be done with the third tomorrow morning (fingers crossed everything goes as planned). I have to have 3 minutes edited for our documentary, and that's whats terrifying me. In other news, back to my iPhone.
finalblogcollage1 I have started shopping almost religiously at Whole Foods. I've just decided that it's worth the bit of extra money to eat healthier, organic, food. Not to say you can't get it elsewhere. But if I head to our other grocery stores I end up walking out with a lot of... not healthy stuff. A lot of anti-organic healthy stuff. In my documentary class we're focusing primarily on food and man, has it opened my eyes. I can't pretend what I've been eating is okay anymore. I just can't. Luckily a trader joes has just opened up nearby, so we're going to be checking that out a lot more too. ----- I'm pretty sure I look like an alien with a cute necklace.----- I did not drink any of that crown... it was just a picture we sent my friend's boyfriend to make him jealous. A lot of cheesecake was devoured that night. ----- New haircut. ----- Pictures of the bayley on halloween. Doesn't she look thrillllllllled? finalblogcollage2

My new dress for graduation. I will be wearing heels of some sort in December, but I quite like how it looks with my boots. ----- self pic. why not. ----- text to my friend whit on people hating you when you turn 23. ----- this is pretty much what i look like all the time when I'm at home. laying in weird positions with a heating pad or ice pack. my back still hurts. :( ----- My fav quote from game of thrones is you know nothing, jon snow. John tried to quote it back to me & somehow it got intertwined with a cat reference. basically making it my favorite text ever. ----- speaking of cats. i finally tamed the beast. he fell asleep on his back with his feet up in the air. so cuuuuute.

Until later, friends.

The Holidays are upon us.

abbeyhairrr Seriously, I can't believe it's November. It feels like yesterday I was talking about how once it was November I would practically be graduating. Oh my goodness, what am I doing with my life? It's here. This is the moment, guys. WHAT AM I DOING? Just kidding, no freak outs around here (yet). Grad school is in the foreseeable future (kinda), so I'm being optimistic. I'm really happy school is about to be over, although I will miss the atmosphere of campus... the camaraderie of man-this-really-sucks-i-hate-life will be gone. As will the school jokes. As will seeing people I know- wait, that never happened. hahhh. K. This post is rambling, and I'm not sure where we're headed (this is my life). Today I completed two of my four projects that are due next week! Yay, progress! Tomorrow morning I'm going with my lovely group to interview someone for our documentary, and then its the weekend (what is a weekend?? Oh downton.)!

Included are outtakes from my little Alice in Wonderland party post.. In other news, when I'm free of this school business I hope to fall into Photoshop. Also, Castle. Because seriously it is so good.

Happy Family.

Maybe the boyfriend and I are just weird. Maybe that's why we treat the teddybear, that I got from him a year or so ago (all the way back here), as our pet. I will be kinda devastated when he starts to fall apart. I'm going to be honest and say I'm surprised he's lasted this long. I sleep with him every night (okay on top of him) because he's the perfect size to use as a headrest. John comes into my room everyday and literally cracks up at the positions that Atlas (he has a name- this is my most embarrassing post) ends up in, after a night of me kicking him around the bed. He is literally the cutest bear in the world. To wrap this up, the boyfriend was playing with my camera two weeks ago & then we ended up taking pictures with Atlas...
mejohncollage Can you tell that John loves being in front of the camera?  ♥ ♥ ♥
Also, I need a dog. ;)

Wonderland

iamnotmyself

I took some photos of myself the other day with a bit of a cinderella feel in mind (theme shoots are fun, okay?). But, when I started to play around with editing.. I decided to quote Through the Looking Glass. Because I love Lewis Carroll's quirky writing. And I love Alice in Wonderland... maybe not the disney version...

whoamimuchness curiouser I couldn't decide whether or not to post these because, to be honest, I am not at the point where I ever feel finished with a photo. I'm still learning tons about editing and photography, so at the moment I'm just enjoying this whole process. Quite, quite fun. Especially when its on your own face. Anyhooooww these were quite simple to make in actuality-just a different background and some text- but I love them. So now I'm off my soapbox.

Bookin' It

For some reason I've been blowing through books the past couple of weeks. No complaints here! I tend to usually stay in the same genre of book, so I've been trying to branch out a little. That means I've been reading books for people over the age of 20 (aka no young adult books here!... well, maybe one.).  Thought I would document the ones I've read because when people ask me what to read I always forget what I liked and didn't like about books. So here goesssssss...

I found City of Women on Amazon's best seller list & it looked interesting so I bought it. So glad I did! I am a sucker for WWII books, especially when told from perspectives I've never heard before. In this case, the book is from the perspective of a woman living in Berlin married to a Nazi Soldier. The book takes you through her journey being in a city under siege, and in constant fear of being arrested. I found myself face-palming myself towards the middle/end of the book but probably because Sigrid is a whole lot braver than me & did things I would be too paranoid to get into. Ha. There are such good, real heroines in this book. Love it. A good read if you like stressful WW2 books. ;)

I read this book directly after City of Women and kind of wished that I'd read a few light-hearted books in between. This book is so incredibly terrifying and inspirational at the same time. I was 3 during the Rwandan Genocide, so obviously I didn't know much about it. She goes through the background of why the genocide happened, and also her time spent sitting in a bathroom for 3 months hiding from people trying to kill her. Insane. But such a good book (if you're at all religious ;). Really glad I read it even though it made going to sleep at night incredibly hard.

Mark of Athena!! Not much to say except I love Rick Riordan and Percy Jackson... been a fan for years, so I can't stop now. Great series.

I had never read the perks of being a wallflower until now! I haven't seen the movie yet, so I decided to read the book first! Such a great story. Easy to read, and soooo interesting. I love Charlie, and Sam, and Patrick. Hard not to. I heard the movie will make me cry, so we shall see.

Anyone have any other book recommendations? I need some...
